TechConnectED Initiative

Bridging the Digital Divide for Youth in Southeast Asia

TechConnectED is a ground-up initiative by MatrixC and Recqa to equip underserved youth with real digital skills and access not just devices, but the tools to build their future.

About the Initiative

TechConnectED exists to give young people from marginalized communities a fair shot at the digital economy. Whether it's refugee kids, B40 students, or youth in underserved areas, we focus on getting Chromebooks into their hands, connecting them to real curriculum, and making sure they don't get left behind.

It's not just tech access. We teach digital literacy, entrepreneurship, coding, and life-ready skills in collaboration with Unicef Malaysia, Google for Education, and other like-minded partners.

Founders

Sean

Sean – MatrixC

Founder of MatrixC, Sean brings 20+ years of experience in tech and digital transformation.

Most people who talk about digital equity have never been left behind themselves. I have. In 2007, I lost everything—bankrupt, broken, with a million-ringgit debt crushing my future. Technology didn't just save my business; it saved my life. Over 17 years, I built that desperation into Matrix Connexion, Malaysia's first Google Cloud Premier Partner. But here's what drives me: every child we reach through TechConnectED gets the same chance that pulled me from crisis to catalyst. I'm not here because digital equity sounds nice. I'm here because I know what it feels like to have nothing, and I know how technology can change everything.
